Ant McPartlin’s wife Lisa Armstrong shows support for Britain's Got Talent magician Marc Spelmann after enduring own conception troubles
Ant McPartlin’s wife, Lisa Armstrong, signalled her support for Britain’s Got Talent contestant Marc Spelmann as he shared his story about his wife being diagnosed with cancer just as she fell pregnant via IVF.
Viewers of BGT were moved to tears on Saturday when magician Marc, 46, revealed he and his wife struggled for a decade to fall pregnant.
When they finally did conceive their daughter Isabella via IVF, they were hit with the terrifying news that wife, Tessa, had developed breast cancer.
Both Tessa and Isabella survived the frightening health ordeal – with Isabella now playing a role in Marc’s spellbinding performances.
Taking to Twitter following Marc’s turn on the show, Lisa showed her support as she ‘liked’ a tweet about his time on the show.
The official Britain’s Got Talent twitter account highlighted the moment with a video and a message.
“ICYMI: Hope you’ve got a comical amount of hankies up that sleeve @IamSPELMANN, because we’re all gonna need one,” the message read, along with a string of crying emojis.
Marc made it straight through to the live semi-final rounds after Ant and Dec pressed their golden buzzer after Ant broke down in tears during the audition.
In 2013, Ant revealed he and Lisa had struggled to start a family together, saying: “We’d love to have kids. We’re trying. It’s tougher than you think when you get a bit older.”
