Gareth Bale has his eyes on further Wales improvement after they rounded off a successful Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Andorra.

Bale scored the second after Aaron Ramsey had opened the scoring six minutes into the second half as Chris Coleman's side finally broke down a stubborn Andorra defence.

Wales ended the campaign in second place, two points behind Belgium, after losing just one of their 10 games.

And Bale wants further progression as Wales head off to their first major tournament since 1958, while he also praised the supporters who brought a party atmosphere to the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday.

He told Sky Sports 1: 'It's a little disappointing the one defeat. If you've given us that at the start of the campaign we'd have bitten your hands off. We just need to keep striving forward now.

'(The supporters) have come out in their thousands, supporting the team through thick and thin. A great thanks to them, the gaffer and everyone involved. We're looking forward to the future.'

Wales skipper Ashley Williams lavished praise on boss Coleman for leading the team to Euro 2016.

He said: 'I think he simplifies everything for us. He's himself; he doesn't try to do anything other than what he does best.

'I can assure you whenever we've gone out on the field he's got us right up for the game. We enjoy the camps, he makes them enjoyable.

'If you ask any of the guys in there we always try and perform for him. We feel disappointed for him when we lose. He deserves all the credit he gets.'

Coleman was equally as strong with his admiration for Williams.

'(Ashley's) brilliant. He's a true leader,' said Coleman. 'When we've really needed him, especially in the bigger games when we've come under the cosh, he's come up trumps for us.

'He's been absolutely fantastic. He deserves everything that's coming to him.'

Coleman also reserved a special mention for the capacity crowd in Cardiff.

He added: 'These supporters have been absolutely incredible. I've never seen anything like it. I played for Wales for some time, managing for some time, but the support we've had this campaign - home and away - has been absolutely fantastic. They've helped us get over the line.'
