Sergio Ramos says he and Gerard Pique will put aside their club differences to feature for Spain's national team this week.

Real Madrid's Ramos has been involved in a bitter war of words with his Barcelona counterpart, after Pique was left furious by a series of refereeing decisions.

Pique took to Twitter to bemoan Real Madrid's apparent luck with decisions in February, with Barcelona sitting just a couple of points behind them in the league.

At the time, Ramos noted that he wasn't surprised by Pique's reaction, but now the centre back says the pair will put everything behind them.

'The game finishes and you shake hands,' he told reporters as he arrived for training at Las Rozas on Monday. 'It's the way it is between Real Madrid and Barcelona and that will not change.

'Now, I will give him a hug. We have become accustomed to throwing stones, but we take it without malice and it is always healthy... and that serves as something for you to sell. The key is the unity in the team, and that can not be lost.'

This season, Ramos has got on the scoresheet a remarkable 10 times, most recently securing a late victory over Athletic Bilbao.

'I didn't expect to score as many goals,' the 30-year-old admits. 'It is the best record of my career as a goalscorer, but I don't think too much about it, as a defender, I am thinking more about conceding as little as possible.

'If I can score in important matches late on, even better.'
